Join a well established, thriving general orthopedic practice by providing clinical support and surgical first assist. This is an expansion position working with two vibrant surgeons who have a heart for patients and serving others through their practice. Quality of life, enjoying your work, and being rewarded for your efforts will be found at this practice. Duties include, but not limited to: Perform comprehensive history and physical exams. Order, interpret and correlate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Formulate a treatment plan for Orthopedic issues within scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment with issues requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Orthopedic surgeons. Perform procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures such as tendon repair, wound closure, wound management, wound debridement, incision and drainage, needle biopsy, percutaneous pinning of fractures, k-wire removal and hardware removal. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, injections of joints, tendons, trigger points and bursa, as well as brace, cast and splint applications. Surgical first assist for arthroscopic knee, shoulder, and ankle surgeries, fracture repair, knee replacement, hip replacement, open shoulder surgery, deep and superficial tissue closures, and any other action delegated by the Orthopedic surgeons. Conduct hospital rounds, write orders, evaluate and clarify clinical conditions, formulate and implement a treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients, and dictate discharge summaries. Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces and other Orthopedic devices.
